Of the eight subspecies of tiger identified, only the Siberian, Bengal, Indo Chinese, South China and Sumatran tiger survived - but they are still endangered animals. Once, tigers could be found as far as eastern turkey. Now, they are confined to isolate areas easthern and southern asia.
